Scope
Propagation of radio waves in ionized and non-ionized media and the characteristics of radio noise, for the purpose of improving radiocommunication systems.
Summary
U.S. Study Group 3 is responsible for studying, developing models, and validating prediction methods addressing electromagnetic wave propagation, especially through the atmosphere. This information is put forward by the government of the United States for consideration in the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and used to advance telecommunication technology and spectrum sharing between services.
